  • Tips for Outdoor Vacationers

A vacation outdoors is a great way to experience the world at its best. Especially if you’ve been feeling cooped up lately, being outside and in the fresh air might be just what you need. If you’re curious to learn more about outdoor vacation life, here's how to make the most of it when you get the chance, courtesy of Food and Travel Guides. Image via Pexels Be Physically Fit for the Outdoors While being physically fit may not seem like a priority when you're looking for adventure, it is a beneficial thing to do if you intend to tackle an extreme sport or activity that is physically demanding. Pack Your Backpack Accordingly It's no fun to be outdoors without having the basics to be able to enjoy the experience. Hence, the importance of packing accordingly and ensuring you have everything you need to get through the day and night comfortably and safely, as you just never know what you might encounter out in the unknown. Know Basic Survival Skills It's always a good idea to come as prepared as possible when adventuring into weird and wonderful places. Here, Will4Adventure notes that it's more about knowing what to do in an emergency, as accidents can happen, and it's always helpful to know what to do off the top of your head when you don't have your usual support base near you to help out in times of crisis. Make Sure You Tie Up All Loose Ends Before You Leave If you own a business and are planning to go away for an extended period of time, ensuring you tie up all the loose ends before you leave can give you the peace of mind you need to really enjoy your holiday to the fullest. For example, you might want to put in some overtime ahead of time to make sure you have the majority of your work done before you leave. If that's not possible, then you can make other arrangements, such as hiring additional help to help you take care of day-to-day duties that are pretty much routine. MedVA points out that a virtual assistant could help here, and the best part about it is you don't have to hire one full-time, just as and when you need them. Other things you could do to make sure everything runs smoothly is notifying customers and suppliers that you will be out of the office for a while and that there is someone capable available to help out in times of an emergency. Keep Your Travel Planning to the Itinerary While it is always exciting to experience periods of spontaneity during an outdoor trip, sticking to a schedule helps to maintain some predictability and, therefore, control over your trip. Planning an itinerary beforehand can also help you make the most of your trip, as you will have done all the research you need to make the most of the experience. Also, it is a way to keep family and friends in the loop should they not be able to get hold of you for any reason. Be Alert to Weather Conditions Nothing is more upsetting than having a brilliant plan set up for a good day outdoors only to have it spoiled by inclement weather conditions. Therefore, be sure to keep an eye out for what the weather forecast is every week so that you can plan for this accordingly. Vacationing outdoors can be beyond fun and a great way to get back to feeling good about yourself outside and in. Planning for this can make your trip that much more exciting, as there is less of a chance of being disappointed because something unexpected caught you by surprise. • Mexico City: Guide to the Perfect Mexico City Experience

Mexico City is one of the world's most vibrant and exhilarating cities, rich in history, culture, and culinary delights. Whether you're setting foot here for the very first time or returning for another adventure, this dynamic metropolis never fails to unveil fresh discoveries at every turn. Our comprehensive guide is your key to crafting the perfect Mexico City experience. You'll find expert recommendations for must-see attractions, captivating tours, and delectable food adventures inside. From the awe-inspiring Pyramids of Teotihuacan and the historic Chapultepec Castle to world-renowned museums and top-notch dining establishments, Mexico City offers a little something to captivate every traveler's heart. Guest Blogger: Mauricio Vite, Vite Presenta Disclosure: Our site contains Affiliate Links. Clicking an Affiliate Link and purchasing something we recommend, won't cost you anything extra. It will though give us a small commission which will help this site remain a free resource for travelers to explore our world together. Must Do Things as a first-time visitor to Mexico City If this is the first time you are visiting Mexico City, let me list for you some of the Things, Tours, and Sightseeing locations that you cannot miss. I would say that in this upcoming list, I will mention some of the most iconic landmarks and historic places in Mexico City. 1) The Pyramids at Teotihuacan: This is a half-day trip since it's a one-hour drive from Mexico City, be sure to check the Avenue of the Dead, The Pyramid of the Moon, and the Sun. 2) The Chapultepec Castle: This castle is located at the top of the hill of Chapultepec with a lot of history about Mexico. You can wander around the great halls of the Castle and the view is Spectacular. 3) The Anthropology Museum: This is the Biggest Museum in Mexico City and is right next to the Chapultepec Castle. You can actually make a full day trip visiting both attractions and what I recommend the most to my readers. The Amazing Water Fountain at the entrance of the museum is spectacular. 4) Frida Kahlo Museum: Get to know the house where Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera used to live. This is perhaps the hottest and hardest to get a ticket to this particular museum in all of Mexico. The reason I say this is because you have to book online at least 2 weeks in advance. You have to consider that Tickets are not sold in the museum and not many people know about this being disappointed in not being able to get in. 5) Xochimilco Boat Ride: The Xochimilco Boat Ride is located in the South Part of Mexico City and is an amazing experience to do with a group of friends and explore the famous Xochimilco Canals. I call this The Mexican Gondolas. Be sure to explore the Isla de las Muñecas (A creepy island with hundreds of dolls) and enjoy the music of the mariachis playing throughout the canals. There are multiple tour options for Xochimilco and is one of the things I recommend the most, this experience is better making it with a lot of people to create a Mexican party vibe which is part of the Fun of visiting Xochimilco. An Ultimate Food Guide with recommended restaurants to visit in Mexico City Mexico City is considered an ultimate foodie destination offering some of the best food experiences in this amazing city. From some of the best restaurants in the world to some amazing Mexican street food like tacos, Mexico City has it all. I hope this brief guide can help you pick some of the best food experiences in town. Visit one of The Most Beautiful Restaurants in Mexico City: San Angel Inn Welcome to the charming San Angel Inn in Mexico City, a beloved restaurant with a rich history of more than six decades. Nestled in the picturesque San Ángel neighborhood, this place is not just about food; it's a piece of Mexican history. This place is considered to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in Mexico City by critics and locals alike. The story of this restaurant dates back to 1616 when it was once a residence called "Our Lady of Santa Ana." It later became a hub for farming and pulque production. Then, on June 13, 1963, it transformed into the iconic San Angel Inn Restaurant while preserving its beautiful gardens and historic architecture. The Main Dining Room is elegant, the Veranda lets you dine outdoors, and the Gastronome Room offers a cozy atmosphere. The menu is a tribute to various regions of Mexico, featuring iconic dishes like Tortilla Soup, Chile en Nogada, and Steak Tips in Salsa Morita. For dessert, don't miss the delightful Crepas de Cajeta. Notably, the San Angel Inn's story goes beyond Mexico City. This restaurant chain manages Mexican restaurants at Disney World in Orlando, showcasing its commitment to sharing Mexican culture and cuisine. Visit SAMOS the Hottest Rooftop Restaurant with a Fantastic view of Mexico City Embark on an incredible culinary journey at Samos, the iconic rooftop restaurant on the 38th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City. This exceptional dining destination offers one of the Best Views in all of Mexico City with an excellent view of Reforma and the iconic Chapultepec Castle Samos takes great pride in its carefully curated menu, a delightful fusion of Mediterranean tastes with a subtle Mexican twist. Committed to utilizing locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant ensures that every dish bursts with freshness and exceptional quality. Get ready to explore a world of flavors as you savor their renowned seafood paella or dive into inventive fusion creations. If you're seeking a standout recommendation, let me enthusiastically suggest trying their mouthwatering pork belly tacos, paired with a zesty and spicy salsa. The tender pork belly and the fiery salsa blend together harmoniously, leaving your taste buds yearning for more. Samos meticulously crafts every detail to offer an authentically exceptional dining experience. From the warm and inviting ambiance to the attentive and welcoming service, the restaurant creates an environment where guests can relax, indulge, and savor the mesmerizing views of Mexico City. Have an Amazing Dinner at Quintonil one of the Best Restaurants in the World located in Mexico City Quintonil Mexico City was recently ranked as the 9th best restaurant in the World awarded by the 50 Best Restaurants in the World 2023. This place is owned by renowned Chef Jorge Vallejo. The menu at Quintonil offers a delightful journey through Mexican cuisine, featuring creative dishes like crispy suckling pig with mole, charred octopus with avocado and cucumber, and beef tongue with purslane and pickled onions. Signature dishes like the slow-cooked beef tail in a dark sauce with almond puree and pickled red onions continue to delight diners. For an unforgettable culinary adventure, guests can opt for the Kitchen Bar Experience, where they are seated at a bar table in front of the open kitchen, witnessing the chefs craft their meals with precision and artistry, the price for the Kitchen Bar Experience is 250 USD. Try the Best Tacos in Mexico City at Taqueria Orinoco Taqueria Orinoco is considered by many locals as one of the Best Tacos in Mexico City. They were originally created in Monterrey, the northern region of Mexico, but because of its huge success Orinoco opened in Mexico City and locals love the tacos they offer. One of the tacos I recommend is the famous Tacos al Pastor which is their main specialty in this restaurant, also you cannot miss ordering their famous Chicharron tacos, Pork Belly with cheese and Avocado and melted cheese WOW!! Both tacos are really delicious. Visit Handshake Speakeasy one of the Best Bars in the World Handshake Speakeasy has been awarded as the 11th best Bar in the World according to the 50 best Bars in the world. This is a Speakeasy Bar located in the Juarez neighborhood of Mexico City and is praised as the Ultimate Cocktail Experience. I highly recommend 2 drinks in this place: The Piña Colada and the Once Upon in Oaxaca Mezcal Drink, these are the most famous cocktails in this bar. Final Thoughts on Food Travel to Mexico City I really hope this Mexico City Guide can help you plan an amazing trip to this fabulous City. I’ve always said that this city is becoming more popular with visitors that want to experience some of the Best Restaurants and Bars in the world located in Mexico City. All while still offering amazing typical Mexican Street food that you will never forget, remember Tacos are a Must but also take your time to try other famous dishes like Chilaquiles, Enchiladas, and the famous Mexican Pozole. I also highly recommend that you plan in advance some of the historic places or attractions that you want to visit, most of them tend to sell out very quickly, especially the Frida Kahlo Museum. I can guarantee that your visit to Mexico will be an unforgettable experience with long-lasting memories. Enjoy and Buen Provecho! Henne Strand: A must-visit for Beautiful Beaches and Outstanding Cuisine The west coast of Denmark has been a popular tourist destination for Germans for many years. They love its natural beauty, cleanliness, and beautiful places to eat. Whether you're looking for a cozy cafe or an exquisite seafood dinner, you'll find it here. For those who love the beach, Henne Strand is a must-visit destination in Denmark. This small but charming village boasts scenic views of the North Sea and many enjoyable activities. So whether you like very wide-grained sand beaches and clear waters that go on for miles, visit one of the historic museums in the area, or simply just go exploring the exquisite nature, Henne Strand has a lot to offer. The town is also known for its outstanding restaurants and fine cuisine. At Café Stranden in Henne Strand, you can enjoy great brasserie dishes from renowned chefs, that range from freshly caught fish, steak tartare, mouth-watering risottos, and their famous burger. You can also savor homemade ice cream from Kastbergs while taking in breathtaking views of the North Sea. 2. Hvide Sande on the Danish West Coast: Where the North Sea meets Rinkøbing Fjord Hvide Sande is another must-visit when on the Danish west coast. The town is located in a unique area on a very narrow strip of land between the North Sea on the one side and Rinkøbing Fjord on the other side. So whether you want to enjoy the waves and the endless sea and fine white sand beaches on the one side or the unique nature and waters of Ringkøbing Fjord on the other side there are plenty of options to get out and enjoy the beautiful nature and waters of the area. This area is also perfect for surfing whether you like to ride the big waves of the North Sea or prefer to wind- or kitesurf in the more shallow and quiet waters of the Fjord. You can also enjoy a superb dining experience as Hvide Sande Røgeri is another great place to visit. Here you can find some of the best smoked fish in Denmark, as well as traditional smoked meats like pork and beef. Enjoy your meal on the terrace while admiring gorgeous views of Hvide Sande harbor. Another great place to eat in this lovely city is the cozy restaurant ‘Café Gaflen’ which is also a great place to eat if you want something quick and simple or want to get a good old-fashioned ice cream cone. 3. Søndervig - Hiking Trails, Miles of White Sand Dunes, and Restaurants on the Beaches For those who are looking for something more casual yet equally delicious, head over to Woodys in Søndervig where you can enjoy a light lunch, a chilled glass of rosé or chardonnay on this beach bar, located in the beautiful dunes that are so characteristic to the entire danish west coast. As one visitor said: "Woody's is an amazing little spot - great food and atmosphere - a must-see when visiting!" As for the previous towns, Søndervig has incredible nature, fine sand beaches that go on for miles, and plenty of options to get outside and enjoy a hike on the many hiking trails in the area. 4. Fur Island: The Small Island in the middle of Limfjorden with Big Culinary Treats The little Island Fur on which only 800 people live is definitely also worth a visit, places in the middle of Limfjorden, surrounded by water. There are also many bike paths and hiking trails which will allow you to explore the beautiful sights of the island. Fur is also known for several food specialties with Fur Brewery being one of these with their locally sourced and produced beers, which is definitely worth a visit. Also, the annual Oyster Festival is something special, held every year in April. For a simple lunch, it is also worth a visit to go to Café Fur - The old bakery or a delicious gourmet ice cream. 5. Skagen: Scenic Experiences and Great Food where Kattegatt and Atlantic clash with each other Finishing at the top of the Danish west coast, a must-visit place to go is; of course, Skagen. This lovely city offers many great experiences of nature in its immediate surroundings. Skagen is placed at the very top of Denmark, and one very unique experience, that you cannot find anywhere else is going all the way out to ‘Grenen’. Grenen is where the east and west coasts meet. At the same time, it is where the two oceans Kattegat and the Atlantic clash with each other. In other words, it is one of the only places in the world where you can stand and have a foot in two different oceans at the same time. Skagen also has many fine restaurants to eat at. For instance ‘Restaurant De 2 Have’ which is all the way out by ‘Grenen’ offers great seafood and amazing views. Otherwise, inside the city of Skagen you can also visit the best ice cream parlor in the city ‘Nanas Skagen’. Experience all that Denmark's west coast has to offer – from cozy cafes to succulent seafood – and let yourself be enchanted by its beautiful nature and charm!
